Material Handler

About the role

BlueLinx is seeking a dedicated Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join their dynamic team at their distribution center. This position offers a fixed wage of $24.75 per hour, a Monday-Friday workweek with a consistent schedule, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, a 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, generous paid time off, and 8 company holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Absorb and assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

Requirements

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Proficient and safe use of forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Pay
