About the role

The Material Handler position at Arcticom, LLC is located in Anchorage, AK. This role involves receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, loading and unloading trucks, performing pick, pull, kit, and stage materials for service calls, installations, deployments, or government contracts, maintaining inventory, and supporting logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of radios, antennas, networking equipment, IT hardware, cabling, tools, and government-procured materials.
  • Load and unload trucks, vans, and deliveries using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or manual lifting.
  • Pick, pull, kit, and stage materials for service calls, installations, deployments, or government contracts.
  • Put away and organize inventory, ensuring proper storage for sensitive electronics and easy retrieval.
  • Perform shipping tasks, including packing, labeling, and preparing outgoing shipments for field teams, customers, or military locations.
  • Support logistics by delivering or coordinating transport of equipment to job sites or technicians.
  • Assist with inventory control tasks such as cycle counts, stock reconciliation, serial number tracking, and report discrepancies or shortages.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following 5S principles and handling hazardous materials per regulations.
  • Document all transactions accurately in inventory systems or logs to support compliance with government contracting requirements.
  • Assist with general shop tasks such as equipment preparation or rental radio inventory support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 3+ years of material handling or warehouse experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background checks.
  • Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50+ pounds.
  • Experience handling sensitive electronics, communications equipment, or inventory with serial number tracking.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with RF scanners or barcode systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and safety focus.
  • Careful handling of delicate electronics, antennas, and communications gear.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Forklift certification (preferred).
  • Experience in telecommunications, IT hardware, or government contracting environments.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of material handling or warehouse experience.

  • Background Check: Ability to pass background checks.
  • Lifting Capacity: Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50+ pounds.
  • Handling Electronics: Experience handling sensitive electronics, communications equipment, or inventory with serial number tracking.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and familiarity with RF scanners or barcode systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and safety focus.
  • Handling Delicate Items: Careful handling of delicate electronics, antennas, and communications gear.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Additional Training: Forklift certification (preferred), experience in telecommunications, IT hardware, or government contracting environments, familiarity with inventory management software.

Schedule and Flexibility

This position operates on standard daytime hours with occasional flexibility required for urgent shipments or project support.

Other Pertinent Work Details

Emphasis on accuracy, security, and compliance due to mission-critical communications for military, government, emergency services, and commercial clients. Occasional exposure to cold climate conditions.

Necessary Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment and work in varying temperatures.

Physical Setting

The physical setting is a warehouse/office hybrid environment in Anchorage.
