Material Handler*

About the role

The Material Handler position at 3M in Cordova, IL offers an opportunity to work alongside innovative colleagues globally. This role involves operating material handling and transport equipment, inspecting and maintaining equipment, supporting production and quality processes, and adhering to GMP procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate material handling and transport equipment including PIVs, pallet jacks, hand trucks, drum lifts, and yard spotters.
• Inspect, monitor, and maintain equipment and operating conditions by completing pre-use inspection checklists.
• Support production, quality, and materials control processes by participating in quality programs, following materials control procedures, maintaining required certifications and training competencies, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Complete required documentation and maintain accurate records related to GMP procedures, shipping activities, temperature logs, inspections, and other job-related tasks and compliance requirements.
• Promote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by understanding and following safety standards and emergency procedures, maintaining an orderly and hazard-free work area, cleaning and operating portable equipment, and reinforcing safe work practices within the area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, agriculture, construction, or a similar field required.
• Minimum of 3 to 6 months of experience operating forklift/material handling.
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
