About the Role

The Transporter (Forklift Operator) operates a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of various types of industrial power equipment and performs loading/unloading, order filling/picking, material handling/stocking, production supply, and checking duties. The position also involves maintaining facility equipment and materials, inspecting and performing minor maintenance on the forklift, and supporting production requests on the floor.

Forklift Operators are cross-trained for coating, corn syrup receiving, and PO receiving (raw material).

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily Redzone Food Safety and GMP audits.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances.
  • Order picking: Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped; meet customer service standards.
  • Load and unload product from staging/storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
  • Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, or other power equipment to move, stack, and stage product and materials.
  • Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put-away, and load functions.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for bin location, inventory quantity, and security; assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Support production with pallet movements on the production floor.
  • Conduct cycle counts, validate inventory, audit paperwork, and perform AX transactions.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; assist in warehouse security.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety; comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervision or lead.

Qualifications

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Standing on a concrete floor for extended periods.
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to work weekends and mandatory overtime as needed.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Leadership abilities.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Analytical skills.
