What You’ll Do
- Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods
- Load and unload trailers as required
- Pick and pull stock for delivery
- Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis
- Organize material storage location in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis
- Complete forklift inspection on a daily basis
- Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler on a daily basis, operating cardboard baler, etc.)
- Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
- Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
Qualifications
- A minimum 6 months of previous forklift experience or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
- Must possess a valid and current driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
Position Success Criteria
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
- Able to regularly lift 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
