Material Handler (1st Shift) Seismic

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking a Material Handler (1st Shift) Seismic at our Reno, NV facility. The hourly rate for this position is $22.73.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods.
• Load and unload trailers as required.
• Pick and pull stock for delivery.
• Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis (assist during backyard attendant absence).
• Organize material storage locations in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis.
• Complete daily forklift inspection.
• Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (e.g., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler daily, operating cardboard baler, etc.).
• Ability to work overtime with little or no notice as necessary for customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
• Keep work areas clean and safe.
• Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
  • Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
  • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools.
  • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.

Requirements

• Minimum of six (6) months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
• Valid and current driver’s license.
• No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates exempt).
• Eaton will not sponsor employment-based immigration for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
• Able to stand continuously during working shift.
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance; occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.

Schedule

Core hours: 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM (1st shift).

Pay

$22.73 per hour.
