About the role
A Material Handler is responsible for locating and loading customer product by hand and with non-motorized equipment, processing orders, preparing trailers, and assisting in facility maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Pulling Orders
- Accurately locate and load customer product onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves using hand and non-motorized equipment, following established procedures and safety regulations.
- Count, weigh, and record the number of units handled on daily production sheets.
- Complete specialized order processing tasks such as stenciling, shrink wrapping, labeling, and consolidating as required.
- Loading & Unloading
- Remove samples of materials, label them with identifying information, and deliver them to a laboratory for analysis before loading.
- Load picked orders according to customer-generated Loading Diagrams or instructions, completing paperwork such as Bill of Lading, Pick Report, Trailer Audit, and Lot Verification.
- Unload, move, stack, and stage customer products and materials by hand and with non-motorized equipment, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Operating & Maintenance - Equipment and Grounds
- Daily inspect, repair, or adjust tow-motor vehicles before operation, following safety and maintenance instructions.
- Prepare trailers prior to loading by inspecting and cleaning to ensure product preservation.
- Assist in building and grounds maintenance to keep the facility clean, neat, safe, and orderly.
- Reports
- Complete activity and statistical reports as assigned by a supervisor.
- Assist in physical inventories, ensuring facility and contents are secure.
- Miscellaneous
- Perform housekeeping activities, assemble crates, and move loose materials to containers as directed.
- Participate in all Safety and 5S requirements.
- Apply the APL Logistics Continuous Improvement (ACI) Model to enhance operational efficiency, improve business processes, and eliminate waste.
- Apply the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean, and orderly facility.
- Meet or exceed company standards for safety, food safety, sanitation, quality, productivity, and customer service.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of warehouse or related work experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Ability to operate non-motorized equipment, conveyor systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and packing material systems.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to write legibly and communicate professionally and positively.
- Proficiency in English.

Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 14:00
Pay
$21.00 per hour
