Material Handler - 1st Shift
About the role
Velosity Forest Lake is searching for a Material Handler to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. The role will prepare and maintain the supply of raw material, packaging and component items for production.
Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate inventory levels and lot history trees by properly moving and electronically tracking materials per system requirements.
- Mixes, batches, and/or blends material for production while working closely with set-up techs and/or process engineers.
- Maintains material handling equipment and identifies equipment needing repair.
- Designates material for production runs; allocates required raw materials, based upon BOM, using IQMS/WMS.
- Returns material to stock after production is complete and assigns it a location in the warehouse.
- Reconciles material usage at the end of a work order.
- Cycles counts raw materials and packaging supplies.
- Maintains and updates IQMS system for material per production run, transfers and back flushes the system.
- Communicates with Purchasing and Scheduling any shortages or discrepancies.
- Performs all material handling with little or no supervision.
- Recommends changes to improve productivity and/or quality.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Preferred: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
- Minimum 1 experience in plastic injection molding preferred.
- Knowledge of proper use of forklift, pallet jacks, scales and other shipping equipment; working knowledge of inventory control systems including bar code systems, working knowledge of all types of materials.
- The ability to multitask, run several projects at the same time without losing the ability to complete them on time; communicate with other departments in a professional and respectful manner; basic computer skills; strong problem solving skills.

Physical & Mental Demands
- Walking is required within the office/shop areas.
- Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements.
- Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment.
- Must have dexterity with hands.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner; Ability to make decisions with limited information and supervision.
Work Environment
- This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing facility with normal lighting, and climate control.
- This position requires the employee to work on a manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors.
