Material Handler - 1st Shift

About the Role

Amerhart is seeking a full-time 1st Shift Material Handler for our Sun Prairie facility. The primary responsibility is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As part of the Operations team, you’ll be expected to help others when needed, treat teammates with respect, and adhere to safety policies and procedures. Starting pay is $22.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish products in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick orders using a forklift until orders are completely filled.
• Report shortages, damaged material, or other issues.
• Inquire with the sales team when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed.
• Use a handheld scanner for receiving, picking, loading, and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with the WMS Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap, and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies during warehouse duties.

Additional Duties

• Fill orders for incoming customers.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
• Inspect forklifts daily to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Cross-train and back up other warehouse team members.

Qualifications

• Prior forklift experience is required.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
