Material Handler (1st Shift)

About the role
You will deliver material to support the manufacturing process with a priority on Inventory Control. Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, you will maintain warehouse materials in an organized fashion, pull and stage jobs as assigned per the production schedule, deliver staged jobs, and respond to material requisitions where pick lists or Kanban systems are not in place. Inventory accuracy is the highest priority for this role, second only to Safety.
Responsibilities
- Familiarity with all job functions in Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse operations
- Operate Material Handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and stand-ups
- Access and use the ERP system to perform inventory transactions and inquiries
- Determine material quantities on hand by part number and location using the ERP system
- Research inventory discrepancies by reviewing transaction history of material movement
- Understand and utilize the Quarantine location
- Perform job tasks in alignment with the JCI LEM program
- Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; 6 months or more of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Basic arithmetic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Forklift Certification
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Work in a noisy, dusty, industrial/manufacturing environment with some exposure to non-toxic irritants
- Work with machinery, moving parts, and vehicles
- Operate cranes, trucks, motor vehicles, ladders, and scaffolding
- Work at heights
- Lift, carry, push, pull, or manipulate up to 25 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 50 lbs, and frequently up to 40 lbs
- Work in a non-climate controlled environment
- Perform repetitive motions involving fingers, hands, and wrists
- Stand or walk for long periods on hard concrete surfaces
- Perform recurring bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, stretching, reaching, or similar activities
- Read, write, speak, and communicate in English
- Ability to work more than 40 hours weekly as needed
- Operate all necessary equipment, including moving vehicles, safely
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by management
Pay
$20.10 per hour (determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, location, and market alignment).
