Job Description
At GE Aerospace, we build electronic communication components, communication centers, and beacon transmitters. Your role as a Material Handler involves receiving inbound shipments and building kits for assembly.
Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory accuracy.
- Receive inbound material/equipment, including uncrating/unpacking/removal from pallets and documentation verification.
- Physically stock parts, materials, supplies, and tools, while maintaining electronic traceability.
- Pick/issue material for sales orders & kits for assembly, ensuring the correct parts are issued.
- Pack material/units for shipping using commercial/military standards to prevent damage during handling or shipment.
- Review shipping documentation to ensure items reach the correct destination.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 6 months of material handling and/or preparing materials for assembly experience.
- Able to lift up to 10-30 pounds repetitively and up to 50 pounds non-repetitively.
- Good dexterity: use basic hand tools, electronic scale/counter, and operate forklifts/pallet jacks.
- Strong computer skills within a Windows environment.
- Ability to work independently and follow written job instructions.
- Self-inspect own work.
- May encounter high-risk or hazardous operations and/or work shifts beyond a standard workweek.
