About the role
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Material Handler, 1st Shift at our Emerald Road facility in Greenwood, SC. The rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. The hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am until 2:30 pm.
Responsibilities
- Remain proficient in all operations involving handling material within the plant.
- Work closely with Group Leaders and Production Supervisors to maintain an efficient flow of materials to production.
- Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries.
- Report on-the-job injuries and unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor.
- Read, ensure all material is identified, labeled and perform daily cycle counts and bin checks as needed.
- Take daily inventory of material and retrieve material from warehouse using a forklift to replenish stock within the department; load materials onto carts and deliver to appropriate areas.
- Replace excess material to the proper pallet after completion of job, fill out Return to Stock form, and return material to warehouse.
- Follow standard work by completing appropriate documentation: inventory spreadsheet, turn in consignment tickets, 5S+/TPM logs, daily housekeeping log, rejected material forms, Kanban board, etc.
- Perform quality procedures by checking incoming material product for general quality/function/appearance, Quality Alert items and Deviation to process; stage rejected material in MRB area after completing appropriate documentation.
- Keep work area “tour ready” by performing 5S+ housekeeping activities daily.
- Work efficiently to achieve departmental goal for standard hours by keeping needed material on hand.
- Identify improvements to current process and notify appropriate support (Supervisor/Group Leader) following the escalation process for all issues that aren’t resolved.
Qualifications
- No relocation assistance is available.
- Only candidates within a 50 mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service members are exempt from this geographical requirement.
