Material Handler- 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
• Open containers.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Rotate material.
• Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Secure lifting attachments to materials and convey loads to destinations or signal crane or hoisting operators to move loads.
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together.
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist, and clean work areas, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
• Assemble crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles.
• Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
