Material Handler - 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM)

About the Role

This position is responsible for the retrieval and control of raw material for daily line functions in manufacturing. The role supports production by maintaining kitting areas and performing general warehouse duties.

Responsibilities

• Pull raw material from the warehouse for manufacturing.
• Empty large trash and cardboard bins.
• Sweep floors to maintain proper housekeeping requirements.
• Pull pallets to lines from the staging area.
• Attend training sessions as directed.
• Help train production operators as directed.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a manual pallet jack to move inventory throughout the kitting processes.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• One or more years of warehouse and manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisors, management, and other employees.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to convert English units of measure to metric.
• Ability to apply common sense when carrying out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Self-starter with the initiative to perform job responsibilities without direct supervision.
• Strong accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
• Must lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Required to meet with other personnel in various areas of the building.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
• Must operate all types of material handling equipment.

Work Environment

• Occasionally exposed to moderate to loud noise.
• Works near moving equipment in a manufacturing warehouse environment.

Pay

$16–20 per hour

Schedule

• 12-month contract (W2 employment).
• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 40 hours per week.
