Material Handler $18.75/hr. + $1.00/hr. Shift Differential

D Shift - Wednesday-Friday and every other Saturday, 6 PM - 6 AM

About the role

We are currently searching for a Material Handler to be based out of our Eugene location. Reporting to the Shift Lead, the Material Handler’s primary focus will be to package finished pipe in proper crate quantities, ensure quality checks are performed regularly, and guarantee customers receive a quality product.

Responsibilities

• Extrusion: Confirm product with schedule
• Assist with Quality Control duties
• Monitor saw cuts and pipe length
• Confirm bell fit, print line, chamfer/bevel, and reference line spacing
• Weigh and transport finished product
• Cut crate boards to proper lengths
• Process regrind
• Perform maintenance and cleanup for production and storage areas
• Know and follow plant safety rules, including wearing proper PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, and gloves)
• Prioritize tasks and anticipate needs to manage time effectively
• Operate material handling and packaging devices, including forklifts, pallet jacks, banders, and nail guns

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good understanding of basic math for quick and accurate counting and calculations
• High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization
• Ability to show initiative and adapt to changes in the work environment
• Comfortable handling multiple competing demands and unexpected events in a calm and logical manner
• Able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds

Pay

A good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $18.75/hour plus a $1.00/hour shift differential. Placement in the range depends on competencies, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs. Other compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and incentives.
