Material Handler - 12hr Day shift

About the role

Material Handlers are responsible for receiving all incoming merchandise and delivering it to the appropriate person/location. They also rotate inventory and deliver stock to workstations. Key duties include verifying accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, writing receiving reports, and delivering supplies and packages to employees.

Responsibilities

• Writes receiving reports for all merchandise that comes into the building.
• Writes daily issue reports.
• Delivers all merchandise to the intended recipient.
• Delivers supplies and packages to employees as needed.
• Pulls and moves stock to workstations.
• Keeps inventory of stock pulled.
• Rotates inventory.
• Moves boxes to and from shelves.
• Unloads pallets.
• Loads and unloads trucks as needed.
• Shreds items when necessary.
• Dumps trash.
• Cleans and restocks workstation as necessary.
• Works with vendors and operates within the location's safety and security procedures.
• Proactively fulfills daily work responsibilities.

Requirements

• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must have keyboard skills and be computer literate.
• Must be able to learn quickly with on-the-job training.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude and high level of teamwork.
• Must be certifiable on Forklift and Stock-picker operations.
• Valid drivers license as may be required to drive delivery truck.

Qualifications

• Physical requirements: Manufacturing environment, lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and 70 lbs on occasion, regular standing, kneeling, bending, stooping and walking 8-10 hours per day.
• Physical conditions: Safety shoes and hearing protection are required.

Skills

This position requires a high level of accuracy in all records, computer data entry, and physical inventories. Forklift operation certification is preferred but not required.

Pay

Hourly Pay Rate: $17.50 + Shift Differential $1.75

Additional Information
