About the role
The Material Distribution Technician I is responsible for learning ARUP processes and procedures for accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of products to ensure timely and quality receipt and distribution of company material and inventory.
Responsibilities
- Uses company vehicles on company business.
- Quality checks inbound shipments to ensure accuracy of labeling processes and stocking procedures.
- Performs receiving functions, including labeling reagents and kits with lot numbers and expiration dates and other sensitive information.
- Maintains quarantine areas to ensure reagents placed for validation are kept isolated and stable until validation is complete.
- Quality checks outbound orders for accuracy.
- Processes data accurately and inputs information.
- Picks and packs products for shipping and returns.
- Processes returns.
- Conducts cycle counts to maintain accuracy of inventory.
- Replenishes stock from backup locations.
- Performs housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Mentors junior staff on procedures.
Requirements
- Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.
- PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
- ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
- Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
- Color Vision: Perception of and ability to distinguish colors.
- Age: Must be 21 years old.
- Valid Utah Driver’s License: 1) No moving violations within the previous two years 2) No alcohol/drug-related violations on record with the Driver’s License Division
