Material Distribution Specialist

About the role

Allegion is seeking a Material Distribution Specialist to join their team at the Technical Glass Products facility in Snoqualmie, WA. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the continuous flow of materials to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Aid and support the Supply Chain Team by planning for every part (PFEPPick and stage inventory against “Pick Lists”)
• Accountable for accurate inventory counts, inventory locations, and inventory-related management functions
• Research and resolve material-related problems
• Communicate, monitor, and expedite shortages
• Perform timely and accurate data entry to allocate inventory against Pick Lists and other usage
• Unpack, label, and stock materials and consumables in accordance to storage requirements
• Print part labels, Pick Lists, and BOM (Bill of Materials) and other key documents
• Complete all necessary documentation pertaining to inventory movement and transactions
• Maintain stockroom in an organized fashion
• Identify and put away parts to correct stocking locations
• Participate in implementing strategic plans for process improvement
• Assist in the development and implementation of short and long-range plans relating to inventory management
• Offload material from containers, trucks, or other vehicles and move to appropriate locations for further processing
• Maintain work areas according to 5S principles on a daily basis
• Fulfill assigned specific daily and weekly job assignments as outlined by supervisor that meet departmental and company goals

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in material distribution, inventory, supply chain, or manufacturing preferred
• Strong data entry, computer skills, and ability to learn new software applications quickly
• Experience with Material Resource Planning / Enterprise Resource Planning type systems (MRP/ERP) preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus
• Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office
• Organizational skills with close attention to detail and prioritizing multiple tasks along with meeting deadlines
• Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional ‘can do’ attitude
• Consistently demonstrate independent judgment and initiative; driven self-started dedicated to continuous process improvement
• Detail-oriented, accurate, dependable, and willing to accept a wide variety of assignments
• Strong Organizational skills with close attention to detail and prioritizing multiple tasks along with meeting deadlines
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong math skills
• Follow all safety requirements and keep work area clean and orderly

Physical Demands

• Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle parts and tools with precision
• Repetitive Motion: Perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands
• Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift
• Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Lift Assist Devices: Use of overhead crane and forklift with training may be required
• Environmental Exposure: Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Respirator, fall protection, welding hood, etc. may be required depending on job duty and/or work area

Pay

The expected Base Hourly Range: $24.50. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Schedule

This role requires 40 hours per week with opportunity for overtime.
