Material Coordinator 1st
About the role
The goal of the material coordinator is to eliminate downtime for production and assist in identifying and solving material issues. The priority of the material coordinator is to ensure production has the material required to produce chassis' in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Investigating any/all material issues at plant level.
- Delivering all parts calls to the line.
- Enter all parts calls into LCI Audit app and reporting all material BOM & print issues to the appropriate lead(s).
- Supporting production with parts needed until production releases.
- Participates in all Warehouse functions and observes all safety requirements.
- Dedicated to production.
- Fulfills all material needs for production.
- Communicate all material shortages to the consumption and inventory teams.
- Must complete Part call sheets daily.
- Arranges delivery of part shortages.
- Works in partnership with manufacturing managers, Line team leads, line leads, line team members, and QC to address BOM and print inaccuracies.
- Reports BOM and print inaccuracies to the consumption team.
- Reports inaccuracies from the part boxes to the consumption team.
- Identifies and arranges for the return of extra parts to the material pad.
- Works in partnership with the consumption team for scheduling changes to ensure part boxes are ready for production in a timely manner.
- Inspects all incoming part boxes to ensure integrity of work and to address any issues prior to production using the part boxes.
- Uses daily production schedule to monitor production rate to ensure part boxes are ready for change overs.
- Tracks scrapped parts to ensure they are removed from inventory.
- Works in partnership with production utility for front/back of line housekeeping.
- Maintains dunnage on the material pad.
- Meets Division metric requirements.
- Participates in morning meeting/safety huddle.
Qualifications
- High school degree or GED (not necessary).
- Forklift license (training is offered).
- At least 1 year of D365 experience.
- At least 1 year of inventory control experience.
Skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Ability to read and process written communication including, but not limited to measurements, directions, instructions, etc.
- Ability to help production meet goals and time deadlines for company projects.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Successful problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc.
- Able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations.
- Able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes throughout the day.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work area.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors.

Schedule
Full-time hourly position, with some Saturdays being mandatory.
Supervisory Responsibility
This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.
Physical Demands
While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active - while performing this job the employee is regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

This position requires Personal Protective Equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear which will be provided. Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.
