Material Clerk

Position Summary

The Materials Clerk shall be capable of identifying all incoming raw and finished materials, supplies and equipment, both manufactured in the plant and purchased in the storage areas. The Materials Clerk will be responsible for unloading, receiving, inspecting, and locating all incoming parts.

Essential Functions

• Continuously safely perform all required tasks, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
  • Take an active role in caring for the equipment to prevent breakdowns and defects and help increase overall equipment efficiency through 5S, TPM (total productive maintenance), and other Lean Manufacturing initiatives directed by the Sedalia site.
• Maintain stock records by established control systems as to receipt, issuance, returns, etc.
  • Select and distribute materials and parts to manufacturing and necessary inventories as directed.
• Operate a forklift truck and clamp truck to transport finished goods and materials including picking up, stacking, tiering and safely handling the lift.
  • Prepare orders for freight, express, or parcel post shipments in accordance with shipping practices and requirements.
• Verify incoming inventory quantities, confirm receipt of ordered items and enter receiving data into SAP.
  • Perform quality inspections as indicated by SAP process.
• Be physically able to move parts to inspection station and storage areas both manually and with the aid of a forklift.
  • Operate a calculator.
• Perform all of the diversified operations assigned along with meeting satisfactory performance requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge
• Good manual dexterity
• Good understanding of quality control principles
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Experience and ability in using hand tools
• Age 18 years or older
