What You’ll Do

  • Lead Daily Material Center Operations: Develop weekly work schedules and assign daily tasks based on production requirements while promoting positive employee relations and adhering to company policies.
  • Supervise Material Handling Activities: Oversee staff responsible for scheduling, receiving, kitting, moving, and handling production materials and sub-assembly jobs according to current SOPs. Ensure Documentation Accuracy: Review all job paperwork and verify that all job documentation is completed properly and thoroughly.
  • Apply Company Policies & Procedures: Supervise employees in alignment with company policies and expectations.
  • Develop & Train Employees: Provide training, cross-training, and continuing education opportunities for warehouse personnel; ensure all required training is completed.
  • Evaluate Employees: Conduct performance reviews based on attendance, quality, productivity, cooperation, and teamwork; perform formal reviews according to MEPPI policies.
  • Drive Efficiency & Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to enhance productivity, safety, and quality within the Material Center.
  • Promote Safety & Compliance: Ensure Material Center workers follow safety procedures; conduct accident investigations as needed.
  • Lead Daily Shift Meetings: Hold start-of-shift meetings to review work assignments, safety reminders, procedural updates, and daily priorities.
  • Maintain Accurate Material Transactions: Ensure all material movements and transactions are recorded on paper or in the business system as required.
  • Enforce Procedures: Ensure employees follow established Material Center procedures and standards.
  • Manage VRMAs & MRRs: Ensure VRMAs and MRRs are processed and expedited on time to support production needs.
  • Maintain a Clean, Organized Work Area: Ensure cleanliness and organization of the Material Center to support efficiency and safety.

What You Bring

  • Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in Material Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field, Minimum of 2 years of prior supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal and group presentation abilities, Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production environment, Strong attention to detail, organization, and employee development, Technology Proficiency: Developed computer skills with MS Office, Experience with ERP systems, preferably Syteline.
