Purpose

Planning and monitoring the materials and products. Manage the flow of inventory and schedule outbound finished goods to customers. Monitor the performance of vendors to ensure continued quality and timely shipments. Schedule and forecast the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies. Ensure that the supply of materials meets the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit.
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
  • Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries.
  • Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule.
  • Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.
  • Implement all processes to agreed standards/targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
  • Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system and ensure data is accurate, up to date, and resolve any issues as required.
  • Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
  • Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy.
  • Create regular statistical reports and analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Materials/Purchasing, or equivalent education and experience. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting – automotive a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience using an MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system – Plex is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Competencies: Technical Capacity, Organizational Skills, Teamwork, Orientation, Problem Solving/Analysis, Computer Proficiency (Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MRP and MPS Systems, Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers & suppliers, Confidentiality, Supervisory Responsibility (no supervisory responsibilities).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
