Job Description
Fall/Winter Clinical Internship for Master’s-Level Students | 400–600 Hours | Starts mid-August | Apply by July 1 | Limited, competitive placements
Student Responsibilities
- Supervised and trained by Centerstone staff
- Conduct therapy with individuals and their families who are receiving mental & behavioral health services
- Take client data
- Observe and participate in therapy services
- Conduct individual and family therapy during time of internship
- Participate in program duties to ensure program runs smoothly
Work Schedule
Internship opportunity is available within Murfreesboro City Schools and will primarily serve elementary school settings within Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This placement offers valuable hands-on experience supporting children and school communities while working alongside experienced behavioral health and educational professionals. Scheduling is flexible based on both school needs and internship requirements. Part-time schedules, including three-day placements, may be accommodated, while opportunities for up to 40 hours per week may be available for interns seeking expanded field experience and clinical exposure.
Qualifications
- Working toward a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy (MFT) and within the final year of study
- Interest in gaining experience working with adults, children and their families
- Demonstrated history of being able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Able to work with data; detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to commit to 20-40 hours a week
