Position Details

Schedule: Full-time, year-round
Hours: Monday–Friday with flexibility for emergencies and weekend/evening work as needed (approx. 45 hours/week)
Location: Travel required between multiple hotel and housing properties in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth
Pay: Competitive pay based on experience and licensing + benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential and/or commercial settings
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues quickly and efficiently
  • Interpret blueprints, building codes, and specifications
  • Ensure all work complies with local and state plumbing codes
  • Provide estimates, timelines, and material requirements for jobs
  • Communicate professionally with contractors and team members
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Requirements

  • Valid Master Plumber License
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and safety practices
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or at heights
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Respond to emergency calls nights and weekends as needed

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Frequent exposure to hazards such as hot water, chemicals, and confined spaces
  • Work may be indoors and outdoors, including during seasonal temperature extremes
  • Certain tasks involve frequent bending, lifting, crawling, standing, and climbing
  • Must be able to see colors, operate tools with manual dexterity, and safely work on ladders and in tight spaces

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a formal plumbing apprenticeship program
  • Prior experience in hotels, facilities, or maintenance departments preferred
