The Master Plumber
The Master Plumber is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of sanitation units, water and heating systems, pumps and associated fixtures and appliances in residential and commercial structures.
- Reads and interprets blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Cuts, welds, and assembles pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures.
- Inspects and tests plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.
- Handles customer queries and responds to call outs.
- Troubleshoots and resolves problems.
- Prepares cost estimates.
- Supports and manages plumbing-related preventive maintenance programs, including valve exercising, system flushing, inspection of plumbing and hydronic systems, and routine verification of critical equipment and components.
- Maintains accurate plumbing system documentation, including valve tag charts, system notes, equipment records, and other reference materials needed to support safe operation, troubleshooting, emergency response, and long-term maintenance planning.
- Maintains and organizes their own plumbing workshop area, including commonly used parts, tools, fittings, and supplies.
- Manages inventory accuracy and communicates material ordering needs to ensure plumbing work can be completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal delay.
- Utilizes the resort’s digital work order, ticketing, and inventory tracking systems by phone, tablet, or computer to receive assignments, document work performed, update task status, track materials, and support accurate maintenance records.
Qualifications
- Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of construction and maintenance practices and safe work practices.
- Strong interpersonal and management skills.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Occasional lifting and moving up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent exposure to wet or humid conditions, working near moving mechanical parts, working in high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme (non-weather) heat, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to extreme (non-weather) cold, risk of electrical shock, working with explosives, and risk of radiation.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to wet or humid conditions, working near moving mechanical parts, working in high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme (non-weather) heat, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to extreme (non-weather) cold, risk of electrical shock, working with explosives, and risk of radiation.
- Frequent exposure to noise levels in the work environment.
- Frequent exposure to steep stairways, multilevel buildings, and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites.
- Frequent exposure to frozen, sloped, and slippery walking surfaces.
