Responsibilities
- Exercises reasonable care and maritime skill in towing services
- Directs and supervises safe operation of vessel, tow, and cargo
- Safely directs STEVENS TOWING COMPANY, INC. fueling procedures and ensures the safe handling of fuel and other pollutants by the crew
- Pursues an aggressive pollution prevention program
- Ensures responsible crew members are trained and qualified for maintenance procedures and record keeping
- Conducts in-house inspections and record keeping on a frequent basis
- Ensures crew members correct deficiencies identified during inspections
- Prepares for and conducts a fire and boat drill at least weekly
- Enforces Stevens Drug and Alcohol Policy and reports violations
Requirements
- USCG MASTER OF TOWING VESSELS LICENSE
- Radar Certification
- STCW TWIC Driver's License
- First Aid and CPR
- Barge handling experience
Qualifications
- Mariner applicants must be found fit for duty per United States Coast Guard or International mariner physical fitness requirements for employment
