Master Mechanic - Component Electrical Shop
About the role
The Master Mechanic at ATS is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling aircraft components to ensure airworthiness. This role involves reading and interpreting technical documents, overseeing less experienced mechanics, and assisting leads in project management.
Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, engineering orders, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.
- Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with ATS RSM procedures as required.
- Repairs, modifies, replaces, or otherwise performs routine maintenance.
- Uses technical data to order parts and ensures material is effective for component being installed on.
- Gathers information to submit to Engineering as needed.
- Recognizes unsafe conditions and takes immediate corrective action.
- Aids Leads with planning, production, and quality control of assigned projects.
- Estimates labor hour requirements as required.
- Identifies opportunities to develop DER repairs.
- Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels.
- Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.
- Recommends changes to processes to improve efficiencies and workflow.
- Promotes "Balanced Technician" concept.
- Mentors and develops mechanics assigned to their functional areas.
- May assist in regular feedback and performance coaching including appropriate management of time, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments within crew.
- Responsible for accurate timekeeping including clocking into jobs.
- May be responsible for accuracy of clocking into jobs for assigned team.
- Adheres to company training guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ recent component maintenance, commercial aircraft maintenance, and/or MRO experience preferred.
- Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.

Pay
Your pay will be based on your experience, skills, and education, as well as internal equity to ensure fairness across the team. Candidates closer to the lower end of the range are typically building their expertise, while those at the higher end bring significant experience and specialized knowledge. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
Schedule
Regular and predictable attendance is expected. Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers is required.
