Responsibilities
- Analyzes operation of systems and components of heavy trucks and heavy construction equipment to determine performance using engineering specifications and test equipment.
- Inspects mechanical and electrical systems, diagnoses and repairs systems.
- Disassembles systems, examines parts for defects and excessive wear.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts, adjusts settings and reassembles according to specifications.
- Operates electronic testing equipment, precision instruments and gauges, hand tools, portable power tools, welding and cutting equipment and cranes and hoists.
- Welds and fabricates parts as needed.
- Performs other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
