Master Data Processor
About the role
Marathon Petroleum Company LP is looking for a full-time Master Data Processor to support the creation and maintenance of material master data. This position reports to the Supply Chain Operations Material Master Supervisor and plays a key role in ensuring accurate, standardized, and searchable material master data within Marathon’s inventory management systems.
The Master Data Processor will collaborate with stakeholders on new record requests, updates to existing records, and troubleshooting, while working closely with Supply Chain business partners to execute transactional activities and support continuous improvement projects targeting material master data.
Responsibilities
- Review, evaluate, and process new material requests for warehouse inventory into material master data records in the appropriate inventory management system(s).
- Review, evaluate, and process requests for changes to existing material master data records in the appropriate inventory management system(s).
- Prevent duplicate records and incorporate best practices for standardization of description content and material classification during the material master data creation process.
- Initiate requests for additional information from customer stakeholders to ensure material master data records are accurate, complete, and searchable.
- Support data quality and consistency improvements through continuous improvement efforts, data cleansing activities, and process optimization.
- Provide support to customer stakeholders and business partners on material master data and related processes.
- Perform data analysis in support of metrics reporting, duplicate data reviews, and ad-hoc requests from stakeholders and Supply Chain business partners.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or equivalent in business administration or a related field preferred.
- 1-3+ years of experience in data entry, data evaluation, supply chain, or a related field.
- Knowledge of materials master and related master data processes preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.

Pay
$46,000.00 - $79,700.00 per year.
