Summary

The Spa Massage Therapist position at Montage International provides exceptional massage and spa services with a focus on professionalism, customization, and hospitality. This role contributes to the organization's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values as an active business partner.

Essential Functions

• Provide Massage and Spa services to guests in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, and additional modalities like Acupressure, Ashiatsu, and others.
• Maintain an agreed-upon retail sales to service ratio with exceptional products, gifts, and accessories.
• Maintain an agreed-upon minimum upsell percentage.
• Attend pre/post shift meetings.
• Participate fully in maintaining backbar expenses.
• Complete all necessary record-keeping tasks related to Spa operations.
• Participate in all advanced training without exception.
• Escorts guests to and from treatment rooms in a graceful manner, attending to any immediate needs.
• Aid in providing information to inquiries, coordinating guest requests, and maintaining impeccable cleanliness.
• Ensure guest comfort and safety throughout the treatment.
• Perform monthly and quarterly deep-clean responsibilities.
• Aid in cleaning all spa areas including locker rooms.
• Assist fellow associates with daily operations to support healthy teamwork and contribute to spa success.
• Participate in any/all promotions within and outside the spa, hotel, or at off-site events.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education.
• Valid SC license from the Board of Massage Therapy.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Massage Therapist in a stand-alone spa or luxury hotel/resort spa.
• Exceptional skill in Swedish and Deep Tissue massage, plus proficiency in at least two of the following: Acupressure, Ashiatsu, Ayurvedic, etc.
• Advanced training in holistic and/or clinical bodywork, aromatherapy, and spa/body treatments.
• Knowledge of botanical ingredients, thalassotherapy, reflexology, Ayurveda, or other holistic wellness fields.
• Strong experience in more than five modalities as described above.
• Physical requirements: Walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling carts weighing up to 250 lbs., grasping, writing, sitting, talking, hearing, visual acuity, manual dexterity.
