Maryville Security Officer

Duties

• Conducting patrols of the buildings and grounds, ensuring adequate access control and protection of caregivers and all Mosaic Life Care properties.
• Able to respond to an armed threat, and bring a safe resolution to the threat or situation.
• Conducting inspections of the facilities looking for unsafe acts and/or conditions, which threaten life safety.
• Able to operate in a stressful environment where persons have experienced life-threatening injuries and death.
• Able to control persons experiencing behavior that is unacceptable via non-violent physical crisis intervention techniques (CPI) or the approved Force Continuum action, or other accepted practices dependent upon the circumstances.
• Respond and investigate incidents in a timely manner and effectively document the facts of the case, take photos of the crime scene and secure any evidence.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED or HiSET equivalent required.
• Two years college, preferably in criminal justice, or Fire Safety and or Post Certified Police Academy preferred.
• Driver's License - Valid Minimum of a Class E Chauffeurs License and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and HAZMAT Training are required and must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of the International Association of Hospital Safety and Security basic Security Officer Exam within 120 days is preferred.
• Two Years in a Position dealing with the public, preferably in the Law Enforcement, Fire Safety, Military Security, Federal (DHS Department of Homeland Security) required.
