Martinsville Speedway, located in southern Virginia near the North Carolina border, has been hosting NASCAR events since its founding in 1947. The track is known for its unique history and annual schedule, which includes hosting the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, NASCAR Whelen Modified Series, and the ValleyStar Credit Union 300.
Summary
Seeking a seasonal employee with maintenance technical expertise to maintain the building and grounds, perform routine preventative maintenance, and assist with general cleaning and repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive building maintenance duties.
- Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, and leaking faucets.
- Perform routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assisting in repairing ballast and light fixtures.
- Assemble and move furniture, hang pictures, set up and tear down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms.
- Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum age 18 years old.
- High School Graduate/GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Pass a driving record check (preferred).
Work Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Work performed in environments with a wide range of temperature and weather conditions (extreme heat/cold).
- Extended periods of standing and walking.
- Frequently lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing (extension ladders, stairs, and ramps, in and out of ditches).
