This position is for a Marriage and Family Therapist at Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP), located in Coalinga, CA.
Job Description and Duties
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, you will provide therapeutic services to inmates to improve their mental health and interpersonal relationships. This includes individual therapy sessions, family therapy sessions, and group therapy sessions. You will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
Minimum Requirements
- Possession of a current/valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.
- Experience working with incarcerated populations.
- Knowledge of correctional settings and the ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate the unique needs of the prison environment.
Desirable Qualifications

- Possession of a valid Associate Marriage & Family Therapist license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.

Pay and Schedule
The starting salary range is $7,294.00 - $10,378.00 per month, with a potential reduction due to the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).
