About the role

Pylon is seeking a Marketing Operations Lead to oversee the marketing function's martech stack, campaign hierarchy, lead scoring and routing, and data hygiene. This role is part of the Revenue Operations org, alongside Sales Ops and CS Ops, led by the Head of Revenue Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the martech stack: Administer and improve marketing tools, including Marketo, Customer.io, Unify, UserGems, Sequel, Hightouch, Clay, Navattic, and Hex, alongside Salesforce, ensuring integration, cleanliness, and trustworthiness, and collaborating with Sales on Amplemarket.

  • Maintain a clean, consistent campaign hierarchy in Salesforce to ensure accurate channel and pipeline reporting.

  • Design and iterate lead scoring, lead-to-account matching, and routing logic with Sales Ops, including inbound SDR assignment, account-owner continuity, recycling and disposition, abandoned-demo flows, and closed-lost buffers, to ensure leads reach the right rep quickly.

  • Maintain the lead source and MQL data model, including channel classification and funnel-stage tagging, and resolve unattributed opportunities, missing UTM tags, and duplicate records to ensure the team trusts what drives pipeline.

  • Manage Google Tag Manager and ad-platform APIs, build and maintain paid audiences, and use tools like Hockeystack and Bizible to build attribution models the team can trust.

  • Own the MQL to S1 to S2 funnel end to end, including event and webinar operations (registration, member-status sync, enrichment, booking links, and MQL handoff to inbound SDRs), with reliable enrichment across all sources.

  • Keep marketing sends landing in the inbox, manage send-domain health, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, list hygiene, and deliverability issues to prevent reach disruption.

  • Keep collection and consent compliant across marketing systems (GDPR, CCPA), preferences, suppression, and opt-outs, ensuring growth without compliance risk.

  • Use AI and automation to remove manual, error-prone steps across enrichment, data cleanup, routing, reporting, and lifecycle workflows.

  • Partner with RevOps and Data on how marketing metrics are modeled and presented, including MQL/S1/S2 pacing against targets.

  • Align with Sales Ops, CS Ops, and the Head of RevOps on shared funnel definitions, handoffs, and SLAs, manage marketing ops spend, and be the team's go-to for systems, reporting, and enablement, including self-serve Hex dashboards.

Requirements

  • Deep Marketo expertise, a hard requirement: hands-on experience with the platform, including forms, lists, program architecture, scoring, nurture, integrations, and end-to-end implementation.

  • 5-7 years in Marketing Operations or Revenue Operations, ideally in B2B SaaS, comfortable with both building reports and explaining their business impact.

  • Salesforce expertise, required: hands-on admin experience, including the Campaign object, campaign hierarchies, and reporting and dashboards.

  • Lead scoring and routing: a proven track record designing scoring models, lead-to-account matching, and routing logic in B2B SaaS.

  • AI fluency: actively using AI tools to work faster and build better processes.

  • Systems thinker: fixing underlying systems rather than patching issues.

  • Clear communicator: explaining technical and data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Operates autonomously: managing a live request queue while overseeing a multi-month platform project.

Qualifications

  • Location: San Francisco or willing to relocate.

  • Loves working in person.

  • Lead Scoring and Routing: proven track record designing scoring models, lead-to-account matching, and routing logic in B2B SaaS.
