Summary
Balfour Beatty is seeking a Marketing Intern for the Dallas office to support the Texas division's work-winning team. The Marketing Intern will help pursue new business and support internal and external communications. This role is ideal for an engaged, curious student who is eager to learn how marketing supports work-winning efforts while contributing to a collaborative, fast-paced team. The Marketing Intern's primary responsibilities include assisting with research and preparation of proposals, brochures, qualification packages, presentations, internal and external communications, and other marketing services and materials. This work helps brand Balfour Beatty by clearly communicating its differentiators and benefits to internal and external customers.
Essential Functions
- Supports the coordination and development of responses to requests for proposals, qualifications, and other information, including research, writing, page layout, proposal graphics, and cover design.
- Coordinates with other marketing team members to efficiently share and archive information, including resumes, proposals, presentations, boilerplate narratives, graphics, photos, etc.
- Participates in CRM database updates and maintenance, specifically project and employee information. Updates and maintains client testimonials and references.
- Proofreads, edits, and provides quality reviews of proposals prepared by self and others.
- Supports internal and external communications, including social media, internal newsletters, and website updates. Provides graphics and other creative support to all division departments and jobsites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Has a high school diploma or equivalent; candidates pursuing communications, marketing, journalism, or graphic design are preferred.
- Demonstrates strong computer skills in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, as well as word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Shows interest in using AI technology, including Microsoft Copilot, to improve productivity, support marketing workflows, and help the business work more efficiently.
- Works as a self-starter who uses time effectively based on key priorities, accepts direction from more than one person at a time, and manages multiple projects.
- Communicates clearly and develops effective customer-focused relationships at all levels of the business.
- Demonstrates strengths in written, organizational, and verbal communication skills.
- Adapts to changing information and business needs.
- Works under strict deadlines with composure.
