About the Role
Samba is hiring its first Senior Marketing Engineer, a builder who will give the Marketing team its own technical capacity. You'll own the systems that power Samba's marketing engine, including the website, martech stack, marketing data layer, and AI tooling. This role reports into Marketing, not Engineering, and works closely with Data Science, Revenue Operations, and Engineering. Your success will be measured by the marketing scoreboard.
Responsibilities
- Own the martech stack: Manage the marketing automation platform end-to-end, including lead lifecycle, scoring, routing, suppression, deliverability, and compliance. Work with RevOps and Growth Marketing to optimize Salesforce integrations, lead vendor evaluations, and rationalize the stack.
- Build the website and experimentation surface: Take engineering ownership of samba.com, including performance, optimization, accessibility, and the component system. Run A/B testing programs and enable Growth Marketing to ship campaign landing pages quickly.
- Make the marketing data trustworthy: Own the marketing tracking plan, maintain dashboards for leadership, and partner with Data Science and RevOps to ensure data consistency across platforms.
- Enable the Marketing team to push the AI frontier: Ensure marketers are using cutting-edge AI tools, turn AI-powered work into team-wide tools, and act as a technical force multiplier for the Marketing team.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience combining software engineering with marketing or growth engineering.
- Experience owning a marketing automation platform (HubSpot, Marketo, or comparable) and shipping production code (JavaScript/TypeScript, modern web frameworks, back-end languages).
- Fluency in SQL and proficiency with BI tools; ability to build and defend dashboards.
- Practical experience with Salesforce (leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities).
- Experience building and deploying LLM-based solutions (agents, evaluation pipelines, workflow tools).
- Comfortable translating between technical and marketing disciplines.
Skills
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, modern web frameworks, and at least one back-end language.
- Strong SQL and BI tool skills.
- Experience with Salesforce and marketing automation platforms.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI tooling.
Bonus Points
- Experience in B2B SaaS, ad-tech, mar-tech, or media measurement.
- Prior experience as the first Marketing Engineer at a growth-stage company.
- Familiarity with CDPs, attribution modeling, and identity resolution.
- A portfolio of internal tools or AI workflows you've shipped.
