September 3, 2026| Employment, Employment Opportunities | Position Title: Marketing & Creative Content Coordinator Department: Marketing & Communications Reports To: Communications, Marketing and Outreach Director Job Summary Under the direction of the Communications Department, the Marketing & Creative Content Coordinator supports the city’s marketing, branding, communications, and creative content efforts through photography, videography, event coverage, promotional campaign support, and youth council program coordination. This position is responsible for creating, capturing, editing, organizing, and producing visual content that highlights city services, events, venues, parks, public projects, downtown activity, community initiatives, and other city programs. This position requires creativity, flexibility, strong organization, and the ability to support occasional evenings, weekends, and special events. This position works collaboratively across the City’s Economic Development Initiative, encompassing Downtown Development, Marketing, Events, and IT, supporting creative and content needs across departments as assigned. This role operates under the overall oversight of the Assistant to the City Manager, with direct supervision and day-to-day work assignment provided by the Communications, Marketing & Outreach Director. Because these functions work closely together in service of the City’s broader economic development goals, this position may experience periods of crossover in responsibilities with other departments within the Initiative. Major Duties Captures and edits photography and videography for city events, concerts, programs, parks, facilities, venues, public projects, community initiatives, downtown activity, and other city-related needsProduces creative content including short-form videos, event recaps, promotional clips, photo galleries, graphics, flyers, advertisements, presentations, signage, and other branded materialsCoordinates and assists with print and digital promotional materials for city events, community groups, city parks, facilities, venues, programs, and campaignsWorks collaboratively with the Communications Coordinator to develop creative assets for social media, websites, newsletters, digital signage, print materials, and other public-facing communication channelsMaintains, organizes, archives, and manages city photo, video, logo, graphic, and creative assets for future useSupports sponsorship fulfillment by assisting with recognition materials, event signage, digital recognition, and related promotional deliverablesAssists with city merchandise, inventory tracking, and related promotional needs as assigned.Produces assigned photography, video, graphics, signage, and other creative assets supporting approved City programs, projects, events, and communications campaigns.Serves as the staff advisor for the city’s Youth Council, including assisting with meetings, communication, program planning, and student engagement.Performs other related duties as assigned Knowledge Required Skill in photography, videography, video editing, graphic design, and visual storytellingSkill in creating content for websites, newsletters, digital signage, print materials, presentations, campaigns, and social media supportKnowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Canva, CapCut, or similar creative toolsKnowledge of design principles, branding, and marketing best practicesAbility to capture high-quality content in fast-paced event environmentsAbility to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, outdoor assignments, and special eventsAbility to work independently while also collaborating with a teamAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with city staff, departments, community organizations, vendors, performers, sponsors, and the general public Supervisory Controls This position is under the direct supervision of the Communications, Marketing, and Outreach Director, who assigns work in a task-oriented fashion and evaluates work based on efficiency, independence, competence, compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the results, with overall oversight provided by the Assistant to the City Manager as part of the City’s Economic Development Initiative. The management skills and responsibilities necessary for this position warrants FLSA-exempt classification. Guidelines Guidelines include city adopted and department policies and procedures, health department regulations and city ordinances, policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application. Complexity/Scope of Work The work consists of varied marketing, branding, advertising and communication duties. Multiple demands and time constraints contribute to the complexity of the work. Successful performance contributes to the promotion of the city’s brand image, events, programs and initiatives. Physical Demands/Work Environment The work environment is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching or walking. The employee occasionally lifts light objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity and distinguishes between shades of color and utilizes the sense of smell. The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in hot/cold or inclement weather and occasionally for long periods of time. Supervisory and Management Responsibility Responsible for the management and direction of potential volunteers, interns, third party contractors and partners, and part-time staff assigned to specific job functions and projects. Minimum Qualifications Maintains a positive, professional attitude and demonstrates flexibility when working across departments and shifting priorities. Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to marketing, advertising, public administration, digital media or a related field.Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with more than one (1) to three (3) years of experience or service.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia.Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug test.
