Marketing/Communications Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

This full‑time internship for Summer 2027 is based onsite in Des Moines, IA. The marketing intern will support a variety of marketing, communication, and business development initiatives that help achieve Ruan’s goals.

Responsibilities

• Utilize digital marketing tactics—including search engine optimization, marketing database, email, social media, and other digital channels—to create recruiting campaigns that generate engagement, awareness, and applications for Ruan’s open positions.
• Perform market research on competitors and develop powerful messaging for advertisements.
• Create email marketing campaigns with internal tools to advertise Ruan’s open positions.
• Research and collaborate with internal partners to understand Ruan’s services, then craft messaging and content for social media, ruan.com, and external sites that resonate with prospective team members and partners.
• Assist with company and volunteer event planning and coordination.
• Help develop the internal newsletter.
• Support special project coordination and implementation, such as conferences/meetings, Driver of the Year, and Driver Appreciation efforts and communications.
• Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
