Market Risk Technology Specialist (Java/Python)

About the role

Seeking an experienced PolyPath Market Risk Specialist to support pricing, valuation, and market risk activities within a large banking or capital markets environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and improve PolyPath platform for pricing, trading, and risk workflows.
• Collaborate with business, risk, model, and tech teams to develop scalable technical solutions for market risk and fixed income requirements.
• Assist in market risk processes such as sensitivities, stress testing, scenario analysis, VaR, and valuation workflows.
• Work with fixed income and structured products including MBS, CMO, ABS, and securitized instruments.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and enhance applications using Python and Java.
• Support risk data flows, market data integration, and valuation processes within the ecosystem.
• Analyze system issues, performance bottlenecks, and data discrepancies, ensuring platform stability.
• Coordinate with front office, risk, finance, and technology teams to deliver accurate risk analytics.
• Support system migration, modernization, and integration efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Expert knowledge of PolyPath and strong experience in market risk.
• Proficiency in Python and Java.
• Solid understanding of fixed income products, pricing, valuation, and risk analytics.
• Experience supporting risk models, valuation tools, and market risk platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience working within large financial institutions or regulated environments.
• 10+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Skills

• Experience with front office, risk, finance, or quantitative teams.
• Knowledge of structured fixed income products and risk factors.
• System integration and real-time platform support experience.
• Issue management and root-cause analysis expertise.
