Market Risk (Risk Management) : Job Level - Vice President

About the role

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Vice President desk-facing risk manager to join its New York based Commodities Market Risk Management team to lead the coverage of North America Power and Gas (NAPG) business.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor the markets and measure the impact on MS's NAPG business, including analyzing complex trades and trading strategies and assessing material weaknesses or overlooked risks
• Live discussion and independent challenge of traders, trading management and strategists. Appropriate escalation of risks identified to senior risk managers
• Understand P&L drivers and construct any necessary tools to facilitate risk and P&L analysis.
• Continuously review limit and reporting framework to ensure appropriateness in light of new trades, business strategy, new products and market conditions
• Manage, mentor, train and develop a team of junior risk managers
• Development of risk methodologies, tools and involvement in system improvement working closely with traders
