Market Manager - Risk Management

About the Role

Desert Regional Medical Center is seeking an innovative and experienced healthcare leader to drive excellence and inspire the team toward exceptional patient outcomes and operational success. The Market Risk Manager implements the Market Risk Management Program, evaluates its effectiveness, and collaborates with other departments to develop and assure implementation of patient safety and high-reliability initiatives. This role acts as a resource for departments and staff in addressing risk management issues.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with quality, patient safety, accreditation and regulatory compliance, and clinical operations leaders to address risks and reduce loss to the organization.
• Serve as a liaison with attorney offices; review legal documents, follow up on legal issues, and provide discovery information.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders in the management of claims.
• Coordinate with attorneys for depositions involving hospital personnel.
• Attend staff meetings, mediations, and trials with legal counsel.
• Review Legal Medical Record requests and notify the Legal team when applicable.
• Keep Leadership informed of the status of legal cases.
• Maintain current insurance documents, certifications, and records as required by federal, state regulations, and system policies.
• Assume responsibility for all maintenance of off-site records and access for others.
• Contribute to and participate in team and individual efforts to improve service quality, including involvement in various hospital committees.
• Maintain knowledge of system policies and procedures.
• Participate with teams to review events and prepare reports for reporting, including coordinating state reporting.
• Utilize resources efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain a safe environment.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Patient Care Related field.
• Experience:
  • Required: 3 years of direct patient care.
  • Preferred: 3 years in Risk/Patient Safety.
• Certifications/Registration:
  • Preferred: CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) or CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) Certification.

Pay

$59.24 - $94.79 hourly. Individual wages are determined based on qualifications and experience.
