Description

The Ukrop's Market Hall is a retail space for gathering, nourishing and sharing. Ukrop's Market Hall offers the "best-of" Ukrop's foods and legendary customer service in a friendly, neighborhood atmosphere. Dine-in or carry out your favorites-fried chicken, potato wedges, panini sandwiches, pizzas, and a full selection of chilled prepared entrees, sides, deli salads, and fresh baked goods. The Market Hall, located in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking to fill multiple full-time and part-time positions. The Market Hall hours are 7:00 am - 8:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. The positions and shifts vary, with occasional overtime during holiday peaks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure superior customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively help customers with product suggestions or needs.
  • Stay up to date on all in-store promotions and new products.
  • Work at the front end of the store registering customer orders in a timely and efficient manner, collecting multiple sources of customer payments, carefully bagging customer orders, and performing opening and closing register duties.
  • Work service, food prep and cooking areas in the bakery and kitchen departments.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures as well as local and state foods safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming store environment, including keeping floors free from debris, stocking of supplies in takeout areas, cleaning dining tables, and other duties as assigned.
  • Report on all food safety issues to manager.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Must be 16 years or older or have a Work Permit.
  • Previous retail customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous food service experience and training preferred but not required.

  • Clear verbal skills for assisting customers, teammates, and supervisors.
  • Work well with others in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in various departments, including hot foods, bakery, and cashiering.
  • Handle cash transactions, operate a register, and use store systems accurately.
  • Follow food handling, cleaning, and safety procedures.

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in a retail grocery environment with exposure to hot, cold, and ambient temperatures.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to food odors, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen/bakery equipment.
  • Requires regular interaction with customers and teammates.
