About the role

The Market Grille Clerk position at Hy-Vee is a non-exempt role within the Market Grille department. This role requires a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by greeting customers and addressing their needs.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items, loading/unloading heavy items, and making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Takes customer orders at the Market Grille counter and handles food in a safe manner.
• Reviews and prepares orders for the day, ensuring an adequate food supply and maintaining cleanliness.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time, and performs other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

• No formal education requirement.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Must be able to perform medium work, including carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
• Must possess the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies orally or in writing.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, count, and record.
