Market Data Support Engineer

Job Description Location: NYC (Hybrid – at least 3 days onsite/week). This role requires you to be on-call on Saturdays and Sundays. Also, week day work hours are split between AM (Start time 7:30am-4:30pm), Regular (9am-6am), Late (10:30am – 7:30pm). Visa Sponsorship: Talan does not sponsor U.S. work permits or employment visas. We are seeking a talented Trading Systems Support Engineer to join our team and work with a leading investment banking and capital markets client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting mission-critical Order Management Systems (OMS) and Market Data platforms, partnering closely with trading desks, risk, compliance, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions in a fast-paced trading environment. Managing the widely-deployed Order Management Systems and Market Data Delivery Systems involving every major electronic exchange and asset classWorking closely with trading teams, risk management, business management and compliance to understand their needs. Acting as the main coordinator to make sure all requirements are met and appropriate solution is setup in production accordinglySolving problems by providing level one and level two support for our production systemsContributing to the design and implementation of the support system to enhance reliability and self-correctionDevising ways to architect and develop with other technical teams within core engineeringMonitoring and reporting on the status and health of our systemsServing as the primary technical contact for brokers and exchangesProviding periodic after-hours coverage Qualifications At least 3 years of experience in the finance industryProficient in Python scripting and/or other scripting languages such as Perl, Bash or Shell.In-depth knowledge of Linux OS, Kernel, scheduling, performance tuningStrong understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, multicast.Knowledge of SQL, MongoDB and use of databasesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesThe ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skillsCompany’s Benefits At Talan, we invest in our employees' well-being and empower them with benefits, including: 💵 Salary: USD $140,000 - US$185,000💸401(k) retirement plan with company matching🌴15 days of paid vacation per year at hire and up to 27 according to seniority (annual untaken vacation days are cashed out)📴8 paid holidays + 5 sick days + 2 personal days per year❤️‍🩹Company health, dental, and vision insurance plans + FSA🦺Voluntary STD and LTD🚍 Commuter/transit benefitsAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
