Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and designers in the development of waterfront structure projects.
- Oversee all project phases including preliminary site visits, conceptual planning, zoning and permitting coordination, design development, and final construction documents.
- Develop and approve project scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring delivery within established goals.
- Prepare proposals for professional services and funding opportunities; review and approve project documents for quality assurance and compliance.
- Serve as the primary client point of contact, maintaining strong relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for future work.
- Collaborate with the Practice Leader to strengthen existing client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
- Monitor and achieve project financial goals, consistently ensuring profitability and efficiency.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to staff, serving as an advisor on engineering challenges and innovative solutions.
- Lead the preparation of project reports, submittals, and technical documentation.
- Conduct site visits to gather existing conditions, provide construction support, and perform inspections.
- Work with the Project Assistant on project setup, billing, invoicing, and closeout.
- Train, mentor, and support the professional development of junior engineers and staff.
Qualifications
- Education and/or Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 4 years of related professional experience, or 8 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.
- Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Deep technical knowledge in the specific field of the project.
- Expertise in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills to manage multiple contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
- Strong comprehension of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
