Marine / Senior Marine Surveyor

The role

• Monitor and inspect shipbuilding processes, including hull fabrication, machinery installation, and outfitting.
• Review and approve construction procedures and specifications for compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
• Conduct progressive inspections during construction phases and attend sea trials.
• Perform condition assessments, damage surveys, and compliance inspections on in-service vessels.
• Evaluate structural integrity, machinery performance, and safety systems.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and recommend corrective actions or repairs.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to IMO conventions, flag state regulations, and classification society standards.
• Liaise with shipowners, operators, and regulatory authorities to resolve compliance issues.

Technical Support & Advisory

• Provide specialised guidance on marine engineering, hull structures, and safety systems
• Support risk assessments and incident investigations.

What you bring

• A degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive professional experience in marine surveying, including new construction and operational vessels
• A customer experience focused mindset
• An in-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and classification society rule
• Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Solid communication and stakeholder management abilities.
