Marine Operator

Responsibilities

• Keep informed about the location of supply vessels, stand-by vessels, and helicopters and record this information in the ship’s logbook.
• Monitor the cargo and ballast control panel.
• Monitor the inert gas pressure and oxygen content of cargo tanks.
• Monitor all marine alarms and take appropriate actions according to instructions.
• Check that ballast and cargo valves are functioning properly and log any issues in the vessel's logbook. Report faults with valves in the ballast and cargo system to the Lead Marine Operator.
• Carry out duties and tasks as outlined in the Emergency Response Plan.
• Follow up on Personal Protective Work (PTW) issuance, execution, and closure.
• Maintain daily stability calculations.
• Perform other assigned tasks as directed by superiors and documented company procedures, including administrative and operational activities.

HSE Responsibility

• Maintain a high degree of awareness regarding safety and health.
• Lead by example, demonstrating safe practices and behaviors.
• Report any unsafe activities, conditions, or situations immediately.
• If you observe anything unsafe, use the 'Stop Work' policy.

Qualifications

• General education, certificates, and experience:
• Endorsement/seaman’s book complying with STCW rule II/1 and the title of Deck Officer for navigation units.
• Endorsement/seaman’s book complying with IMO Circ. A.1079(28) – item 6.4, and the title of Ballast Control Operator for operation units.
• Experience from tankers and/or mobile units.
• Fluent English proficiency.
