Position Marine Mechanical Engineer Job Location Project Location / Shipyard – As Required Key Responsibilities Marine Machinery & EquipmentSupervise and maintain marine engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors, generators and other mechanical equipment.Ensure proper operation and maintenance of vessel machinery.Maintenance & TroubleshootingPlan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance.Diagnose mechanical faults and arrange necessary repair and replacement.Ensure minimum machinery downtime.Ship Repair & MaintenanceSupervise mechanical repair, overhaul, installation and commissioning work.Coordinate with shipyard technicians, contractors and service providers.Technical InspectionInspect machinery and mechanical systems to identify defects and maintenance requirements.Ensure work is completed according to approved technical specifications and safety standards.Spare Parts & ProcurementIdentify required mechanical spare parts, tools and equipment.Coordinate with Purchase & Procurement and Store departments for timely availability of materials.Documentation & ReportingMaintain machinery maintenance records, inspection reports and service history.Prepare daily/weekly maintenance and progress reports for management.Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with applicable marine safety standards, company procedures and project requirements.Maintain safe working practices during maintenance, repair and installation activities.Team & Contractor ManagementSupervise technicians, mechanics and contractors involved in marine mechanical work.Coordinate with Electrical, Operations, Procurement, Store and other relevant departments.
