Marine Mechanic

Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system
• Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of boat/vessel; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation
• Ascertain problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking boat maintenance records; examining service schedules

Education And Experience

• Previous Marine Mechanic experience preferred, not required
• Able to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
• Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds
• Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
