Marine Electronics Technician with Security Clearance

Job Summary

Install, service and repair marine electronics, communications, navigation and electrical systems. Repair, troubleshoot, modify and install various types of marine electronic equipment and related devices. Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skill in restoring equipment operation.

Work Conditions

• May be required to work first shift (0700-1530) or second shift (0830-1700).
• Work will be performed inside and outside enclosed buildings.
• Work will include sitting, standing, walking, light lifting, and reaching.
• May work outside normal hours of operations as mission/fleet support requirements dictate.
• May require temporary underway periods onboard small craft 20'-100' to evaluate performance of electronic systems.
• May require climbing, lifting, or standing for extended periods of time in support of mission.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. Navy or Coast Guard electronics training is highly desirable.
• ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) Marine Electrical Certification and/or Advanced Marine Electrical Certification - highly desired.
• Minimum of six (6) years of direct military and/or maritime electronics, electrical, or C4I systems repair experience.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Must be organized and be able to multi-task.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to read, write and interpret technical directives and electronic schematics.
• Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
